Twitter Introduces Vine iOS App for Easy Video Sharing

Twitter has introduced Vine, a new iOS app that will allow users to share six-second looping video creations with friends on social networks.

Vine was officially announced to be acquired by Twitter. Instead of using the conventional video-sharing option, users can now record videos by holding their fingers on the screen. They can also pause the recording for a while and create a small story out of multiple scenes.

“Like Tweets, the brevity of videos on Vine (6 seconds or less) inspires creativity. Now that you can easily capture motion and sound, we look forward to seeing what you create. We’re working now to bring it to other platforms, so stay tuned for that,” read the official blog post.

Though Vine is owned by Twitter, people do not require a Twitter account to use the app. Vine can also connect to Facebook, allowing users to post videos there as well. On installing the app, users have the option to sign in via Twitter or to create a new account with an e-mail address. The app lists out all the Vine creations in the home screen. Users can find other Vine videos via the Explore tab, which brings out editor’s picks, recent popular videos etc.
